Week 16: Social Media Management Tools

Social Media Management Tools

Dun Central has been using Hootsuite, a certain social media management tool that allow users to schedule posts ahead of time and on multiple social media platforms. Using social media management tools greatly reduces the amount of time that businesses and individuals need to spend on social media. Hootsuite gives the user analytics tools to help market your content more efficiently. Another benefit is the ability to reply to messages and comments on multiple platforms from one single site.

Although it provides many features that save time, Hootsuite can be expensive depending on your needs. I would recommend it for serious start ups and businesses that need to maintain their social media presence on multiple platforms. For individuals, as well as smaller businesses, it may not always be cost-effective to pay for the required subscription. When the business's revenue is able to easily cover the subscription cost, premium social media management tools are often very helpful for managing multiple accounts.

After trying Hootsuite for a few months, I have decided that I will cancel the subscription until my business can cover the costs of the subscription. I am considering reducing the amount of social media platforms that Dun Central uses, as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest have been the least successful platforms for my business so far. Remaining with Facebook and Instagram will allow me to easily manage the social media for my business without using tools such as Hootsuite.
